Known limitations

• Real-time typing exercises: The interactive typing exercise requires manual keyboard input and may have limited functionality for users with motor disabilities. We are working on alternative input options.
• Mini-games: Some gamified elements use time-sensitive interactions and visual effects that may not be fully accessible.
• Real-time multiplayer: The Duel feature contains rapidly changing content that can be difficult for screen reader users to grasp.
• Keyboard visualization: The animated keyboard display is purely visual and serves as a supplementary learning aid.
• Some older content may not yet fully meet the contrast requirements of WCAG 2.1 AA.

Accessibility measures

We take the following measures to ensure the accessibility of typr.fun:

• Accessibility is part of our internal guidelines.
• We use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to make the structure understandable for assistive technologies.
• The website supports full keyboard operation for navigation and forms.
• Color contrasts are regularly checked and adjusted to WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
• The website offers a light mode as an alternative to the default dark theme.
• All content is available in 41 languages, including right-to-left languages.

Legal basis

This declaration is based on the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG, BGBl. I No. 76/2023), which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act), as well as Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on barrier-free access to websites and mobile applications of public bodies.

Although Typr, as a private company, does not directly fall within the scope of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we are voluntarily committed to the WCAG 2.1 AA standards and are continually working to improve accessibility.
